| With profound sorrow, we announce the falling asleep in the Lord of Archimandrite Hilary (Madison) of the monastery brotherhood at 5:00 AM on Sunday morning, 14 August, the eve of the Feast of the Dormition of our Most-holy Lady. He had been a resident of the monastery for over a decade, and was well known and beloved by not only the monastics, but by the greater St. Tikhon's community as well.
Fr. Hilary served for many years in the diocese of the Midwest, including as the diocesan chancellor. After his retirement from active ministry, he first spent a few years at Holy Assumption Monastery in Calistoga, California, before joining the brotherhood of St. Tikhon's Monastery.
The order of burial of a monastic will begin at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, 16 August, following Vespers and Matins, which will be served at 4:00 PM. On Wednesday morning, 17 August, the funeral Divine Liturgy will be served at 9:00 AM, immediately followed by Panikhida and internment at the monastery cemetary. A meal will be offered in the monastery trapeznaya following the services.
